Your kidding right, soccer is hard to watch and boring compared to American football. I played baseball most of my life and have some athleticism and was asked to play in an indoor soccer game as my buddy’s team was a player short and needed help. I was in my early 30’s and the team mostly ex college players and random eurpo soccer dweebs, they were all talking smack about my shoes, baseball turf shoes and my non matching shorts, they told me this was the best team in league and just play a zone, and heLp on defense just get in way strategy. I told my buddy, I want to play offense for a shift or 2, yes my cardio wasn’t the best, but I said soccer is an easy sport you just need to out hustle your opponent and get an angle on the defender. I said I can score bet you $100 , I can net a goal. He said fuck you baseball players suck not good at soccer At this level. First opportunity I get ,had to out hustle 1 defender and the goalie as the ball was launched high over my head and I had to get to that second bounce before they did, I beat the cartel defender and it was me and the goalie meeting nearly at the same time , I clip the ball on my knee cap first, little outside the rectangle, during that time I plow into the goalie , much bigger dude then me, he falls down and ball trickles in, I scored get $100 buy beers for team and said I will never player soccer again, because you need to be in real shape. Actually do respect soccer players athlete, incredible endurance, World Cup might be fun, but American football and college football is king in USA.

Bet under 2 1/2 in important soccer games.:sleep2:

Great athletes though they could not hit or field a baseball or shoot a basketball so they played soccer.

Goals are often scored randomly, lob a high pass in front of the net, 6 players on both teams struggle for position, this happens over and over and over, maybe once in a great while a player on offense is able to score.

Obviously, Americans love their brand of football, and I'm with them

But I do enjoy watching soccer. I'll watch the national teams and Italy in international matches. I'll watch the Revolution, and I'll even watch some random match on TV, but rarely for the entire match.

guess it depends on your background. I dont watch either , regularly . I'll watch World Cup/Euro, some of the NFL playoffs . How the fuck can a person sit through a whole basketball game?-HOW?

Soccer is a true team sport, perhaps the truest -- you can have the best player in the world, wont amount to much unless other pieces are stable. he wont get touches-unlike basketball or even NFL (very QB-dependent ). Its also a tough sport to play --gotta play it to appreciate it. Looks 'easy'.....try it , get on the pitch .. And if you're not in shape? lol. There's a reason certain countries are always the favs at the WC. Others have no chance, just fillers .

This is the best comment so far, i enjoy watching the world cup and champions league soccer is a good sport but i don't understand why Americans hate soccer and think their football is the only one worth watching

  • Go to a bar
  • Go to a grocery store
  • a gas station
  • a church
  • a casino
... in other words, "wherever"

Ask 100 random USA Americans to:
  • name 20 all time great baseball players
  • name 20 all time great football players
  • name 20 all time great basketball players
  • name 20 all time great soccer players
